The service of women in supporting the Army began in 1775. Hear the amazing stories from the Revolutionary War to those serving today through interactive exhibits, videos, film presentations and the Memorial Garden.
Learn about: the "Hello Girls", bilingual telephone operators who were sent to France to assist General Pershing, or the 210,000 women who accepted the challenge during WWII and formed the Women's Army Corps. See the 1945 wedding dress made from an Army parachute and a bathing suit made from a khaki uniform and shoestrings. Hear the incredible stories of the Nisei, Japanese-American women from Hawaii and from internment camps who contributed to cryptology & communications.
The museum tells the amazing story of female patriots who have served our nation from the American Revolution to present. The U.S. Army Women’s Museum serves as an educational institution, providing military history training to Soldiers, veterans, and the civilian community. A variety of programs are offered at the Museum for visitors of all ages. We hope you visit and leave with a greater understanding and appreciation of women’s service to the United States Army.
